We are a small local independent bakery/cafe that is looking for a flexible barista to join us in making coffee and serving customers. 

We are a takeaway venue with very limited seating, you will be primarily preapring takeaway food and coffee orders. 

This role is suitable for hospitality staff  and university students looking for part time work or recent high school graduates looking to enter the hospitality industry. 

The opportunity available is on a permanent part-time basis (21 hours/week initially with more hours available depending on demand). 

Qualifications/Requirements 

• Barista with at least 6 months to 1 year experience preferred 
• Experience with specialty coffee preferred (knowledge on coffee extraction and grinder management)
• Experience in retail or hospitality preferred 
• Ability to multitask 
• Friendly and enthusiastic customer service 
• Knowledge on food handling and food hygiene 
• Good communication skills 

Tasks and Responsibilities 

Primary tasks and responsibilities include:

• Serving customers and taking orders
• Making coffees and ensuring consistent coffee extraction
• Ensuring coffee preparation area is clean 
• Cleaning and general front of shop duties
• Grabbing and bagging food 
• Assisting management with other duties throughout the day.
